Our Story

The Bettered Men Foundation was founded by a group of men who had fallen through the cracks of systems designed to protect and support everyone. Their shared experiences of being overlooked, underserved, and misunderstood led to the creation of a space where men could find the resources, community, and encouragement they needed to heal and grow.

OUR MISSION

The Bettered Men Foundation is committed to empowering men to overcome silent struggles and build stronger, healthier lives and relationships one step and one story at a time.

OUR VISION

We envision a world where men and women alike have equal access to mental health resources, support systems, and opportunities for healing, free from stigma, shame, or gender-based barriers. Our goal is to create a society where no one faces their struggles alone and where every individual, regardless of gender, can find the tools and community they need to grow stronger, live healthier, and thrive.

While our name reflects our commitment to supporting men and boys, our services are open to all. We believe that everyone deserves access to mental health support, personal development tools, and a community that listens and cares. Our programs are designed to uplift individuals regardless of gender, and we welcome anyone seeking guidance, connection, or a fresh start.

MEN’S PEER-LED SUPPORT GROUPS

Join a supportive circle of men committed to growth, healing, and brotherhood. Our 8-week closed group sessions meet Saturdays, 2:00–3:30 PM at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library.

Our weekly peer-led support groups are designed to provide a safe, structured, and empowering space for men across the Dallas–Fort Worth area to grow, connect, and heal together. These sessions are open to students, returning citizens, and men of all ages who are seeking personal development and meaningful community.

Topics range from emotional intelligence and communication to financial literacy, leadership, and mental health advocacy. Every week builds on the last, fostering trust, accountability, and growth. After each session, participants are invited to join an informal social outing coordinated by our Group Facilitation Team to strengthen bonds and build community beyond the circle.

Whether you're navigating life transitions, seeking brotherhood, or simply looking for a space to be heard and supported, our peer-led groups offer a powerful starting point.
